## What to watch

- Free plan: 5-minute recordings in 720p

- Trim and cut only; not a timeline editor

## Our verdict

Zight combines a screen recorder, a screenshot tool and a GIF maker. You record a region, a window or the full screen with your camera, and the link is on your clipboard when you stop. Viewers open it in a browser without an account. System audio works on both Mac and Windows, and paid plans record up to 4K with no length limit.

The free Share plan is enough to try it: recordings stop at 5 minutes and are 720p. Create removes the length limit for $119.40 a year. Editing covers trim, cut, split, merge and annotations; it is not a timeline editor.

If you mostly send video updates and want viewer insights, compare it with [Loom](/reviews/loom/). If you want a more capable editor or open source, look at [Cap](/reviews/cap/). For screenshots alone, [Snagit](/reviews/snagit/) or [ShareX](/reviews/sharex/) may be enough.
