What we like

  • Records screen, webcam, microphone and system audio on separate tracks, up to 4K at 120 fps
  • Editor with auto subtitles, annotations, pan and zoom, transitions and green screen
  • A $79.99 one-time licence is available alongside the subscriptions

What to watch

  • Trial exports are limited to 5 minutes, 1080p and carry a watermark
  • The one-time licence covers version 8.x only, not future major versions
  • Share links come from uploading to DemoCreator's cloud, not straight after recording

Best for: You record tutorials or lessons and want a multi-track editor without paying Camtasia prices.

Our verdict

DemoCreator records your screen, webcam, microphone and system audio on separate tracks and opens them in a full editor. You get auto subtitles, annotations, pan and zoom, transitions and green screen, plus scheduled recording and drawing on screen. That’s a lot of tool for $59.99 a year, or $79.99 once for version 8.

The trial is enough to judge the app, not to use it: exports stop at 5 minutes, 1080p and 30 fps, with a watermark. Sharing means uploading to YouTube, Vimeo or DemoCreator’s cloud, so there’s no link the moment you stop recording. Ratings on G2 and Capterra are good but rest on only 10 reviews each.

If you want the most established editor of this kind, Camtasia costs more but has far more reviews. For a simpler recorder with basic trimming, compare Movavi Screen Recorder. If you mostly send quick video messages, look at Loom.
