## Our verdict

Vidyard is a video messaging tool for sales and customer teams. You record your screen and camera, copy a link and send it. Paid plans add view analytics, a branded sharing page and calls to action. The desktop app records up to 4K, and the browser extension runs in Chrome and Edge on most computers, including Chromebooks.

The free plan is usable for occasional videos: 5 recordings a month, each up to 30 minutes, with trim and cut. You can't download them. Starter costs $708 per seat a year, more than most tools here. Full system audio works only on Windows and ChromeOS.

If you send updates to colleagues rather than prospects, [Loom](/reviews/loom/) or [Zight](/reviews/zight/) cost less. If you want an open-source recorder with a strong editor, try [Cap](/reviews/cap/).
