## What we like

- Editor with cuts, zooms, layouts, overlays and subtitles
- Mac and Windows apps record up to 4K with system audio
- Never adds a watermark to your videos

## What to watch

- No free plan, only a 7-day trial
- Clips are limited to 6 hours
- Windows app is in beta and can't record a single window

## Our verdict

Tella is a recorder with an editor built in. You record your screen and camera in the browser, the Chrome extension or the Mac and Windows apps, then cut by transcript, add zooms, change layouts and style subtitles. Quick mode skips the editor and copies the share link when you stop. Exports reach 4K and never carry a watermark.

There is no free plan. The 7-day trial covers most Pro features, and afterwards you can only watch and share existing videos. Pro costs $156 a year. Clips are limited to 6 hours, and the Windows app is still in beta.

If you mostly send short updates and want a free plan, [Loom](/reviews/loom/) or [Cap](/reviews/cap/) fit better. For a desktop editor you pay for once, look at [Camtasia](/reviews/camtasia/), and for Mac-only demo videos, [Screen Studio](/reviews/screen-studio/).
