## Our verdict

ScreenPal gives you a recorder, an editor and video hosting for little money. The free plan adds no watermark and exports up to 4K, but it stops each recording at 15 minutes, hosts only 10 videos and records your microphone without computer audio. Deluxe, at $48 a year, removes the time limit and adds system audio and the full editor.

The editor covers cuts, text, overlays, blur and captions, though it is not a multi-track timeline. If you need a full timeline editor, compare it with [Camtasia](/reviews/camtasia/). If you mostly send quick video messages to colleagues, compare it with [Loom](/reviews/loom/).

The desktop app doesn't run on Linux. ScreenPal points Linux users to its free online recorder instead.
