Movavi Screen Recorder does the basics well. It records the screen with webcam, system audio and microphone, lets you draw and show keystrokes while recording, and can start and stop a recording on a schedule. G2 users rate it 9.4 out of 10 for ease of use.

Editing is thin: you can trim and cut fragments out, and that's it. A fuller editor means buying the Screen Recorder + Video Editor bundle. The free download is a 7-day trial that watermarks every video, so there's no lasting free option.
