Medal is built for saving and sharing game moments. It runs in the background on Windows, saves the last few seconds to 20 minutes on a hotkey, or clips kills and wins on its own in supported games. You can trim and add text, music and effects in its editor, then send an instant link.

The free plan is generous for recording but limited for sharing. Uploads stop at 20 minutes and 1080p, carry a watermark and come with ads. Files on your PC never have a watermark. Medal doesn’t publish Premium prices on its website; the App Store lists $9.99 a month or $95.90 a year.

If you have an NVIDIA graphics card and only want local files, the NVIDIA App records for free without an account. For full control over scenes and sources, OBS Studio is free on any PC. If you stream, look at Streamlabs.

Is Medal free?

Yes. Medal is free on PC and mobile. Free uploads are limited to 20 minutes at 1080p and 60 fps and carry a watermark. Premium removes those limits and the ads.

Does Medal add a watermark?

Only to clips you upload to Medal. The video file on your PC never has a watermark. Premium lets you download uploaded clips without it.

Can Medal record my desktop?
