Vimeo expands its Free plan

Vimeo's Free plan now allows unlimited public videos and 3 GB for embeddable and private videos, up from 1 GB. Screen recordings still stop at 30 minutes.

On October 7, 2026, Vimeo announced a new Free plan.1 Free users can now share as many public videos as they like, as long as embedding is off. Embeddable and private videos get 3 GB of storage, up from 1 GB. Vimeo also removed the “Created with Vimeo” watermark from videos, screen recordings and GIFs exported from its editor, and made auto-captions and translation free. A press release on October 13 said the plan applies to all new and existing Free users except those in Italy and Austria.2

For screen recording, Vimeo’s help center says new recordings made with Vimeo Record count toward the storage limit.3 Recordings default to Unlisted, so they count toward the 3 GB unless you make them public with embedding turned off. Free recordings are still limited to 30 minutes each, and Vimeo’s screen recorder page says Free recordings carry a Vimeo watermark when embedded.4
