Screen Studio 4 adds editing by transcript
Screen Studio 4.0, released on October 1, 2026, lets you cut a video by deleting sentences from its transcript and adds camera cutout, split screen and face tracking. Prices didn't change.
Screen Studio released version 4.0 on October 1, 2026, which the maker calls its biggest update yet.1 The main changes:
- Edit by transcript. Delete a sentence from the transcript to cut it from the video. The app can also find filler words and long pauses and offer to cut or shorten them.
- Camera cutout (beta). Removes the background behind you on your Mac and places you in front of your screen.
- Split screen. Shows you and your screen side by side, or one above the other in a vertical video, with layout changes animated automatically.
- Face tracking keeps your face centered, and Hide during silence hides the camera while you’re not talking.
- Glass Loupe magnifies a detail under a lens, as an alternative to zooming.
- Faster exports, up to 3x on Macs with Apple silicon, and new recordings up to 2x smaller.
Projects saved in Screen Studio 4 don’t open in Screen Studio 3.1 The release notes don’t mention pricing, and the pricing page still lists one plan with every feature at $9 a month billed yearly or $29 month to month.2
