Sometime between December 2025 and August 2026, CleanShot X renamed its plans from Cloud Basic and Cloud Pro to CleanShot Basic and CleanShot Pro and raised their prices.[^dec][^aug] Basic, a one-time licence with a year of updates, went from $29 to $35. Pro went from $8 to $10 per user per month billed yearly, and from $10 to $12 billed monthly. Renewing Basic updates still costs $19 a year. CleanShot didn't announce the change; we found it by comparing archived copies of its pricing page.

On September 1, 2026, CleanShot 5.0 added a video editor.[^changelog] See our [CleanShot X review](/reviews/cleanshot-x/).
