Descript has a free plan and four paid plans that differ mostly in media hours, export quality and seats. Here's what each costs, from Descript's own pricing page.

## Plans

- Free: free, free. 1 media hour a month, 720p export with watermark
- Hobbyist: $24/month, $192/year. 10 media hours a month, 1080p, no watermark
- Creator: $35/month, $288/year. 30 media hours a month, 4K export, up to 3 seats
- Business: $65/month, $600/year. 40 media hours a month, Brand Studio, up to 5 seats
- Enterprise: n/a, n/a. Talk to sales; SSO and SCIM

## What you get on each plan

Descript's plans are priced per person and differ mostly in how many media hours you get each month.

- **Free:** 1 media hour a month, 720p exports with a watermark.
- **Hobbyist:** 10 media hours a month, 1080p, no watermark. $24 a month, or $192 a year billed yearly.
- **Creator:** 30 media hours a month, 4K exports, up to 3 seats. $35 a month, or $288 a year.
- **Business:** 40 media hours a month, Brand Studio, up to 5 seats. $65 a month, or $600 a year.
- **Enterprise:** single sign-on and user provisioning (SSO and SCIM). Prices on request.

## Plan changes

In November 2025 Descript started moving subscribers on older plans to the current ones, which count media minutes and AI credits instead of transcription hours. See [our news post](/news/descript-legacy-plans-migrated/).
