Loom and Scribe are often compared, but they make different things. Loom records your screen and camera as a video and gives you a link the moment you stop. Scribe doesn’t record screen video: it turns your clicks into a written guide, one step per click with a screenshot and a line of text.

Pick Loom to explain, review or update, with your voice and face on screen. Viewers can comment and react, and you see who watched. Its free plan allows 25 videos of up to 5 minutes in 720p, and Business costs $18 per user a month, or $180 a year.

Pick Scribe for processes people repeat, such as SOPs, training docs and how-to guides they skim one step at a time. You share a guide as a link or embed it in a wiki. The free Basic plan captures in Chrome and Edge, with no PDF, HTML or Markdown export. Desktop capture and exports need Pro Personal at $35 a month, or $300 a year per seat.
